The Shell Seeker's March
by Debbie Hooper
The mighty March winds
Strand shells on the miniature
sand mountains across the wide-open beach
vulnerable to bending shell seekers
who single out the flawless, unique shaped and colorful keepers.

Are the castoffs the lucky ones?
Tossed and neglected
surviving again through shared imperfection?
While the few favored and flawless
are snached and attached to picture frames, lamp shades and shelves, hung around wrists, necks and carried in pockets, neglected in boxes?
